{Splurge vs. Steal}

I have always been a fan of the Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palettes, but for $50, I could never bring myself to buy one. Today I looked at again and still walked away, I then went to Ulta and discovered Physicians Formula just released their own version called, you guessed it.."Nude Eyes" and for $12,  I can add this one to make make-up collection and still buy a new lipstick and nail polish ♥

What do you think - is this palette close enough to the real deal (even the packaging is similar) or do you prefer the Urban Decay?

Urban Decay Palette "Naked"
I do like the way this palette has each individual color seperated.

Urban Decay Palette "Naked 2"
I think I like the 'sequel' even better and it comes in a cool tin.

Physicians Formula "Nude Eyes"
Not as pigmented as the Urban Decay colors, more shimmery and this one could get messy with all of the colors not seperated by anything.

  1. This is on my must have list. This year I'm going to finally bring myself to purchase it, the naked palette numero uno! I'm very picky about eye shadows, and I heard nothing but rave reviews for naked palettes. M.A.C is also very pigmented. I've come to learn that you can't really skimp on makeup.

    1. So true about make-up. I am a mainly a Sephora/Nordy make-up girl, but when I saw this palette, I thought hmm..but after hearing almost everyone siding on the "splurge" I'll just put this on my Bday list - isn't yours coming up too -I say ask for the palette if someone doesn't know what to get you. Ooohh..I wonder what the Sephora Birthday gift will be in the new year, can't wait to find out!

  2. Honestly I am prob. going to get stoned for saying this but I like Two Faced shadows better and I have the Urband Decay Naked 2 palette and it's not my favorite. I prefer the first one and I think that Two Faced shadows are more velvety and more pigmented. Don't get me wrong, I use it every day, b/c as you pointed out - it was $50! But I would have preferred your "Steal" find any day, I think!

    Drop by the blog, I'm having a stella & dot scarf giveawy from their new line!

    1. Oh please - you won't get stoned..haha! I love hearing everyone's different opinions on make-up, I also like Too Faced so that is good to hear, I'll have to check out their palettes, it's all so confusing and time consuming trying to find the right products - thanks for commenting, I'll start following yor blog here :)

  3. I have both the PF Nude Eyes Palette and the Naked 2 Palette. While I didn't love spending $50 on an eyeshadow palette, the Naked 2 Palette was worth every penny in my opinion! I have owned it since it was first released, and I use it just about every day. I have hardly purchased any other eye shadow products since then--it's definitely an HG product for me.

    That being said, I did pick up the PF Nude Eyes Palette last spring when I saw it at my local Ulta store because I thought the lace/bow packaging was so cute--I couldn't resist it! I do like it and use it from time to time, especially when I travel, but the quality of the eye shadows is just nowhere near that of the Urban Decay shadows (not as buttery soft or pigmented). I do think it's a great drugstore purchase, though. PF just came out with a couple of more neutral eye palettes that are similar to this one too!
