{Splurge v. Steal} Claw Rings

I know this is not a style everyone will embrace, but for those of you looking to rock something a little different on your hand, the "claw" ring is one of the hot new trends in jewelry for spring. The splurge version is handmade and more detailed, but if you are simply looking for a cool piece of trendy jewelry, the steal version is a cool alternative.

Would you wear this style? I just ordered the "steal" ring for myself ♥

Four Favorites

These are my New pieces from Target that I couldn't wait to share (and wear!). Luckily, my store was sold out of my sizes, so I took advantage of Target's online promo to save 20% off any $75 purchase or more.

2 Striped Peplum So fresh and easy to wear with my weekend uniform of denim and more denim.
3 Gap Infinity Scarf Looking to add a pop of Neon Pink to my navy and grey basics.
4 Mossimo Nude Pumps Target shoes fit me about half the time..fingers crossed.

What's are you favorites of this week?

The Oscars 2013 {fashion + make-up}

The Oscars are all about fashion, and awards..for the best fashion. These are some of my favorite looks of the night and are subject to change without notice..hey, a girl can change her mind ♥

Who gets your vote for Best Dressed?

(top left to right) Naomi Watts/ Jennifer Lawrence/ Jessica Chastain/ Jennifer Garner/ Reese Witherspoon/Zoe Saldana

My Favorite Looks:

Naomi Watts looked stunning in Armani Prive - just edgy enough

Charlize Theron in Dior Haute Couture is flawless

Jennifer Garner looked stunning in this purple Gucci Dress

Zoe Saldana in Alexis Mabille has started to grow on me,
it fits her small frame well

Reese Witherspoon in a beautiful colbalt blue Louis Vuitton

Jessica Chastain in Armani finally got it right!

After showing up in less than stellar dresses at other award shows,
Jessica looked perfect in this gown that showcased her fair skin and red hair.

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture

While I wasn't crazy about the dress itself (it was just so big), Jennifer did look beautiful.
The dress was so big in fact, she briefly fell on her way up to accepting her Best Actress Award..at least it was memorable.

..and the award for Best Hair and Make-up goes to:

(top left to right) Charlize Theron/Kerry Washington/Jennifer Lawrence/Reese Witherspoon/ Adele/ Jennifer Garner

Natural lips with a hint of pink was the look of the evening, with Adele's amazing eyes taking center stage. Hair styles varied from retro waves on Reese to a modern updo on Jennifer Lawrence.

Favorite Red Carpet Moment:

Leiv Schreiber taking a pic of his gorgeous gal on the red carpet, so sweet.

I would LOVE to hear what you thought of The Oscars!

Zara $20 Jacket find!

I just wanted to share my amazing find at Zara with everyone in case you get a chance to stop by their store. I wasn't looking for a denim jacket, but this distressed style in one of the hot colors for spring (hello pistachio-mint) fit perfectly and when I spotted the $20 price tag (reg $59) I knew I had to have it! There were so many in-store deals, I only wish I had more time to shop ♥

I paired the jacket in store with a gorgeous flowy peach skirt for an edgier look and
I'm now on the hunt for a more affordable version! Let me know if you see anything ;-)

Black + White Shoe Stand off {Prabal Gurung v. Nine West}

When Prabal Gurung for Target launched over a week ago, the shoes were the quickest to sell out and if you were like me, you had to blindly order a pair online hoping they would fit. For me, I wasn't so lucky, I was swimming in these black and white beauties and still wanted a similar look for the new season. I walked into Marshalls and spotted a brand new display of Nine West wedges and they fit ♥

Nate Berkus for mead at Target

I stumbled upon this new and relatively small collab featuring designer Nate Berkus for Mead available at select Target locations. Nate is a household name for many of us after launching a successful home collection for Target late last year. This collection of chic stationary and desk accessories is focused on making your space organized and stylish. Seeing new magazine holders, pencil cups and binder clips in bold patterns got my heart racing a bit (my obsession with organizing began as a young child). Even if you aren't planning to purchase this particular line of products, I hope this inspires you to add some color to your space and get organized this year. Redecorating and beautifying even a small part of your home or work space can change your life..you can do it!    *Nate Berkus Home Collection is now 50% off in stores at Target

What do you think of organizing your space in style?

"A well designed home is one that tells your story" ~Nate Berkus

Patters and colors to brighten your space

Being organized gives me a sense of calm and the design element is an added bonus
that also makes it a creative place to work

The yellow stripes are my favorite, cheery and a bit nautical

Topshop + Topman Los Angeles

Topshop and Topman opened their first Los Angeles store yesterday at The Grove. The British import has been popular among celebrities and fashionistas for it's trendy clothing and accessories with an edge. This is a beautiful two-story location, with Topshop occupying the first floor and Topman, women's petites, and shoes on the second floor.

I arrived just after they opened their doors this morning and it was already crowded with shoppers, lots of employees (seriously, a ridiculous amount), and the smell of freshly painted walls, not fun. I took a quick lapse around the store to check things out, but it was virtually impossible to actually shop. The clothing and handbags, etc. are on the pricier side of the Forever 21/ H&M spectrum, but I knew that going into the store, thanks to shopping Topshop at Nordstrom (..and patiently waiting for sale prices). So, I left empty handed, but that's okay, Zara is right around the corner ♥

Have you visited Topshop - what do you think of their store?

 It's finally here!

The fashionable mannequins that greet you at the entrance

Each style of clothing was grouped together to resemble mix and match outfits on the wall

  Whoo-hoo!

This dress was $120, I've seen cuter dresses for $25 at Target

The "cheaper" handbags are $40 and very lightweight

I loved all of their displays, super cute
(I took this pic while in motion, a bunch of girls were heading straight for me
with no signs of slowing down)

Always love a girl in polka dots (maybe not with plaid though)

 Wall of handbags

 The massive shoe department

The brightly colored walls added a cool vibe to the store

The view on the way up

Topman section of the store had more employees in it than shoppers, I guess men don't rush to new stores openings like women do, go figure.

Topman department looked almost untouched

Men's accessories

This line formed almost immediately after the doors opened and grew fast

A free photo booth to upload your Topshop looks to Facebook

Their well packaged make-up department accented with stripes and polka dots

Old Navy Graphic Tees

I love popping into Old Navy, even if only for a few minutes. There is always something cute (and super affordable) to make me smile. These graphic t-shirts in bright neon colors are so fun and some are just in time for Valentine's Day. My personal favorite is "Passion for Fashion", so even if I can't being wearing my favorite designer wardrobe running errands, my fashion "message" will be clear and and I don't care who knows it ♥

{Prabal Gurung x Target Collection} Pics + Sizing

The highly anticipated Prabal Gurung for Target is finally here! After stopping at 3 "regular" Target stores and only seeing a small collection of what was supposed to be available, I made my way to a Target Greatland location and feasted my eyes on this lovely collection. I took pictures of almost every item available so you can shop with me and decide for yourself what you want. I included sizing notes on as many pieces as I could, in case you can't make it to the store and something is still available to shop online here ♥  For reference I am just under 5'5'' and usually prefer a medium in almost everything (in case shrinkage occurs and I like things to be a tad loose for a less structured, not sloppy look).

 What are you favorites?

I was the only customer shopping at my first (of four) Target stops.
