10 New Year's Resolutions for 2014

This year, I wanted to share some of my New Year's Resolutions to hopefully inspire you to make a list of goals and to-do's, or steal some of mine! I am an obsessive list maker and enjoy planning for the possibilities of the year ahead. I treat the entire month of January as a "fresh start" even if I don't start every.single.thing. on the first day of the year..too overwhelming. This is for anyone who is looking to try something new and become a better version of yourself in 2014!

What are your New Year's Resolutions?

New Year's Resolutions:

1.Step out of my comfort zone..in everything.
This is my mantra for the year, and can be applied to all aspects of my life.

2.Cook one new recipe each week
I actually like to cook, yet I rotate the same few meals over and over again.
Follow The Fashion Palate for some sweet dessert inspiration.

3.Learn French
I studied French in high school and still only speak the same 3 phrases that everyone can speak that didn't study French.

4.Try new restaurants and expand my food horizons
I eat at The Cheesecake Factory almost every week and I am perfectly content to order the same 3 items again and again (see a theme here?).

5.Go on vacation to a place other than Las Vegas
I live in Los Angeles and this is my favorite place to "travel" to on a short break..or a long break.

6.Add more everyday glamour to my life, at least some of the time
Why not have breakfast on a pretty gold plate? (I admit it, I'll grab a paper plate in the morning to avoid having a sink full of dishes in the evening) I want to use the nicer things I have, rather than "saving" them for a special occasion.

7. Step up my style + put more effort into looking chic
Wearing jeans with a cute top every weekend may work most of the time, but it's also my "go to" look when I'm too tired to put together an actual outfit. Check out The Chic Street for style inspo!

8. Be more spontaneous + say "yes" more often
This is probably my most challenging resolution, simply because as you can see, I like to plan things.
Watch Jim Carrey in Yes Man for some funny inspiration.

9. Take more pictures
Yes, I take Target pics of new arrivals, LOL..but I often forget to take photos when out with friends or on a weekend getaway.

10. Carve out more "me" time
Even if it's just thirty minutes a day to read a magazine or give myself a fresh manicure.

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to read this blog, follow me on Facebook,
or has ever left a comment, I truly appreciate it!!

Cheers to an amazing 2014!!

    1. I think I'll need to update this list before January is even over, LOL. I just think these are things I want to work on throughout the year and don't stop it all together if I don't do one of them every day :D

  5. I live in leggings and long tops. While it is chic and fashionable, it's the only thing I prefer these days. I plan to step outside the box this year and try to find some skinny jeans that fit well (a key reason I live in leggings) and tops that are a bit more form fitting!

    1. That is a great resolution and I know how easy it is to always grab the same thing. Skinny jeans are my favorite and that will add instant chicness to your look :)
